Grittleton House, Chippenham, Wiltshire

Sleeps 10 - 260 60 Bedrooms 100 Dining

Youth and school group residential centre sleeping 260, with excellent sports facilities and activities available, near Bath

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Grittleton House, Chippenham, Wiltshire, sleeps 10 - 260 in 60 bedrooms.

Formerly a private school, sleeping up to 260, our accommodation offers a child-friendly environment in which to rest and relax. The site is safe and secure and there is CCTV coverage and coded front gates and doors into all buildings. Our rural location means teachers/group leaders can relax in the evenings as well! Tennis courts and an indoor sports dome offer the opportunity to plan activity days on site. We have links with professional coaching organisations who can also create tailor-made programmes on site for your group. The grounds are also perfect for self-led activities that you may wish to carry out during your stay; this may include orienteering, treasure hunts, forest-school, barbecues and sports (we have a range of equipment available to borrow).

There are many places of interest nearby, including the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe, Stonehenge, the SS Great Britain and The Clifton Suspension Bridge (both examples of the works of the great Victorian Engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel), beautiful Cotswold villages and the city of Bath which boasts one of the best preserved Roman remains in the world. To compliment your group’s learning and lesson topics, these attractions provide a wide range of curriculum-linked and educational visit opportunities. We can help you organise trips to any of these attractions if needed.

The Manor House itself offers a chance to stay in an historic building with a great atmosphere and ambience. There are rooms available for teaching and learning, relaxing and break outs, as well as a cinema and disco room for evening entertainment.

2 different types of accommodation are available: the Manor House (with shared dormitories and facilities) and The Stables (with private bathrooms). The teachers/group leaders all have single or twin room with private bathrooms.

We can provide balanced, healthy meals, cooked on-site by our catering team. Packed lunches and barbecues are also available.
