Nestled on the shores of Llyn Tegid (Bala), Wales' largest natural lake, in the heart of Eryri National Park, Glan-llyn is the perfect location for any group accommodation. With comfortable bunkhouse lodgings and excellent facilities, this outdoor centre caters to schools, youth groups, corporate teams, and families seeking adventure and relaxation.
A variety of rooms are available ranging from twin rooms to rooms for 8. All rooms have en suite facilities. Accommodation is split between a number of blocks, available with exclusive use individually or in combination for larger groups, as follows:
Llys Aran - sleeps 60
Cefn Gwyn - sleeps 46
Berwyn - sleeps 45
Cefn y Plas - sleeps 38
Blaen y Plas - sleeps 32
All the above have at least one sitting room (some have 2) with a TV and tea and coffee facilities.
Ty Eirys - sleeps 19, has a kitchenette, and a sitting area with a TV
The dining hall is for all accommodation blocks, meaning a catered package would have everyone on site in the same place. We do try to stagger the meals if separate blocks are hired out
Glan-llyn offers a B&B package as well as a fully catered package (2/3 meals a day). However, please note that if groups choose not to include catering there is no on-site kitchen for self-catering. Glan-llyn can cater to any dietary needs, allergies, cultural backgrounds, and religious beliefs.
Glan-llyn also has many meeting rooms which are the perfect location for any creative art (dancing, choirs, and so on), along with a lecture room, sports hall and disco hall.
A range of outdoor activities are available: canoeing, raft building, paddleboarding (Easter-Oct 1/2 term), team building/problem solving, archery, climbing wall, high ropes course, and bushcraft. These are at an additional cost and must be booked in advance. There is an unattended swimming pool on site; this can be hired out at an additional cost.Â
