This wonderfully comfortable, spacious, sociable family holiday house in Grantown-on-Spey is in the Cairngorms National Park, Scottish Highlands. The High street (a few minutes walk) has a good choice of food shops and restaurants. This area is rich in wildlife, close to the Cairngorm and Lecht skiing and mountaineering activities and 20 minutes from Aviemore.
An ideal base for walking, cycling/mountain biking, wild swimming, fishing (the Spey and the Findhorn), golf, Speyside whisky distillery tours (eg.Aberlor, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Cardhu, The Cairn), local castles (eg Ballindalloch, Cawdor, Crathes, Balmoral) and Culloden Battlefield.
Hearthside sleeps 12 offering spacious living accommodation and is dog friendly (2 dogs).
The entrance porch to Hearthside has plenty of space for boots and coats. The utility room perfect for wet clothes, wellies and dogs.
The hallway is spacious for children to play (a large variety of toys for all ages provided).
The kitchen is very well supplied for group catering and the dining table seats 12 for meals. The main lounge has plenty of relaxed seating, a cosy (Clearview) wood burner and TV, great for relaxing together. The enclosed garden has space for kids and dogs to let off steam including a patio, barbeque and outdoor dining/seating area for enjoying the Anagach woodland view.
There is a double bedroom, shower room/toilet on the ground floor, handy for anyone less mobile in the gathering. The other bedrooms upstairs are a combination of doubles, a twin, a king and a triple family room. Altogether there are 3 contemporary shared bathrooms and an extra toilet spread across both floors.
Keen walkers and cyclists will love being close to the Speyside and Dava Way with routes passing through Grantown-on-Spey. This vibrant town is at one end of Scotland's 90 mile snow road so a good choice for anyone getting involved in mountain sports. Events include Christmas Santa and Reindeer procession (December 23rd), Hogmanay in the Square (December 31st), monthly Sunday Farmers Markets, TruckIn2Grantown, Grantown Farmers Show, Grantown Highland Games, the huge Harley Davidson Rally.
