Set in a beautiful setting in one of North Yorkshire's most scenic and popular villages, a short stroll from the pubs, tea rooms and steam train station. It really is a perfect place for a relaxing break. There are many beautiful walks from the house to suit all ages and abilities and a good range of tearooms and pubs to call on for refreshments. Dogs are welcome too.

Helena is a delightful holiday home from home in the North York Moors, enjoying an idyllic setting, and with 6 bedrooms there is plenty of room to accommodate everyone in comfort. A beautiful semi-detached house sleeping 12 comfortably and comprised of 2 en suite kingsize bedrooms, a third kingsize bedroom and 3 twin rooms with two additional family bathrooms and a downstairs toilet. It is the perfect place for a memorable reunion with friends and family.

There is a large lounge that seats 12 and the separate dining room has a table large enough for all 12 guests to enjoy celebration meals together. Both the dining room and lounge have open fires to relax in front of after a day out exploring. In addition, there is a separate fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and Aga, plus a utility room with washer and drier as well as a downstairs toilet.

The first floor has a large kingsize bedroom with en suite (and double aspect views), and two twin bedrooms with views over the local area which share a family bathroom. The second floor has a kingsize en suite, a further kingsize bedroom and twin room which share a family bathroom.

Outside the house has gardens to the front and back. There is off-street parking at the front and to the side of the house (for up to 4 cars). The back garden offers an enclosed and secure garden for children and dogs. In the back garden there is a large BBQ and dining area (for 12) and additional areas to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area.

A visit to the village train station is essential, to watch or climb aboard the steam trains to ride to the historic towns of Whitby and Pickering, both offering a wealth of activities for day visitors, whether it be fish and chips on the beach or exploring historic Pickering.

Dog Friendly

Up to 3 well behaved dogs are welcome. The gardens are enclosed by walls/hedge and fences. Please keep them downstairs and off the furniture.

Large dining table that seats 12, TV, drinks fridge, high chair, open fire available to use.

Comfortable lounge with 3 large sofas that seat 12, large Smart TV with Netflix, plus DVD player and DVD library. Open fire available to use.

3 TVs in the house for watching TV and DVDs.

Air source heat pump provides central heating for the house and hot water. Electric Aga in kitchen and open fires in lounge and dining room.

All bed linen and towels provided - please bring your own beach towels.

Parking for up to 4 cars on the drive. Gates need to be closed to keep the sheep out of the garden as they roam the common land in the village.

Changeover days are Mondays (4 or 7 night stay) and Fridays (3 or 7 night stays). Rates vary by season – indicative rates shown. Minimum stay is 3 nights. In summer holidays changeover day is Saturday with minimum booking 7 nights. Full rates are shown on our website.

The house is a short walk from the village amenities, shop, tea rooms, pubs and steam railway station. There are numerous beautiful walks from the door. In a lovely village on the North York Moors.

Mallyan Spout bus stop (10 minute walk) 840 bus to Whitby-Leeds 4 buses each way per day.
Goathland (5 minute walk).Whitby (20 minutes).Sleights (10 minutes).
Whitby (9 miles) and Pickering (14 miles) are about 20 mins away.
Small top up shop in the village. Spar, butcher and bakery in Sleights (6 miles, 10 mins drive), supermarkets in Whitby (Lidl, Sainsburys) and Pickering (Co-op, Lidl).
Short walk from the house are 3 pubs, tea rooms plus small village shop. Fish and chip shop and pub in Sleights (10 mins drive). Selection of pubs and restaurants in Whitby and Pickering.
Teesside (47 miles approx. 1 hour 10 mins).Leeds Bradford (72 miles approx. 1 hour 50 mins).Newcastle Airport (82 miles approx. 2 hours).
