Hillhouse Farm Escapes is a brilliant setting for large group gatherings, from weddings and big birthday celebrations to reunions with family or friends, business retreats, and team events. With accommodation for 18 guests spread across 2 properties, there's plenty of space to be together as well as room to spread out. Each house has its own kitchen, dining area and lounge, plus outdoor seating.

For shared meals and celebrations, gather everyone in the barn for informal dining or a barbecue, or make use of the generous living spaces in Bracken Hill and Highfield House. For group sit-down dining for up to 24, a small marquee can be arranged (at an extra charge), perfect for an intimate wedding feast, a birthday dinner or a party night with friends.

We are happy to recommend trusted local caterers, whether you are planning a relaxed dinner, canapés and cocktails or a full wedding celebration. A mobile bar can also be arranged if you fancy something fun for the evening.

There is plenty here to keep every member of the group entertained during your stay. Get involved in a sheepdog demonstration, clay shooting, archery or other country sports, or simply enjoy walks and cycling on the farm tracks outside the front door. The tennis court is available for a friendly tournament. For something more relaxed, we can help arrange tastings, flower workshops or other group sessions, perfect for a group of friends or a corporate event.

Just 30 minutes from Edinburgh, this venue is a great choice for exploring southern Scotland, with market towns including Melrose and North Berwick close by, Edinburgh easily reached for a day out, and great beaches within 45 minutes.
