Hillside Croft is a delightful, luxury self-catering cottage located near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Situated in the picturesque Derbyshire Dales between the historical Peak District National Park and the charming Staffordshire Moorlands, this Grade II listed cottage lies within six acres of secluded landscaped gardens and verdant pasture land. It is ideally placed for activities, walking and sightseeing – we welcome large parties of friends and family, as well careful hen parties.
The cottage comfortably sleeps 10 to 14 people. There are five bedrooms – four double and one twin – giving a sleeping capacity of 10. In addition, within these rooms, there are four single beds and two single bed-chairs, giving a total sleeping capacity of up to 16.
A characterful sandstone cottage, Hillside Croft features pretty stone-mullioned and leaded windows, prominent heavy oak beams, and revealed timber and stonework throughout. Handmade, antique pine furniture, and a mix of old stone, oak and tiled floors and rugs add extra atmosphere, while matching furnishings, central heating, and log stoves downstairs make for an especially comfortable and warm ambience.
Our farmhouse kitchen comprises antique pine kitchen units, a double French pottery sink, stone surfaces and tiled flooring. Overlooking a pretty rear garden, with various herbs, blackberries and fruit trees planted for your culinary use.
The dining room easily seats 10 to 12 at its large farmhouse table, with additional seating for up to 16 and all the crockery you might need. With a log burner set under an impressive inglenook fireplace on one side, it offers an especially comfortable space for entertaining.

This beautiful country cottage is surrounded by landscaped flower gardens – including a well-fenced nature pond – and verdant pastureland. Bustling with birds and wildlife, the wider area and its footpaths are ideal to explore or just amble around! Completing this pretty picture, Hillside Croft has a sheltered patio area with a hardwood table and chairs, an umbrella, barbeque, chimenea and hot tub.
