If you're coming to the Lake District to enjoy the views, then you simply cannot overlook this perfectly positioned home, with unrivalled breath-taking panoramic vistas, across Coniston Water, the Yewdale fells and Grizedale Forest beyond.

From its superb situation the cottage is only a few minutes' walk from the plentiful amenities of Coniston village. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the plethora of footpaths and cycle ways accessible from the front door, including the nearby Coniston fells and Tarn Hows.

Hilltop is a charming Lakeland home, perfectly suited to couples, friends and families alike.

Slate steps lead from the parking area to the elevated patio terrace at upper ground floor level. A glass balustrade ensures the spectacular 180 degree Lakeland views are not obscured.

The sitting room is basked in light with comfortable seating options, feature electric fireplace and smart TV with DVD player - perfect for relaxation after a day spent exploring, if you can tear yourself away from the window! Double doors lead to the equally inviting conservatory and dining area. An extension of the sitting room, this is the perfect space to get lost in a book, great meal or the view, also with access to the rear garden with slate patio and bistro style seating.

The house kitchen is superbly modern and very well-appointed with a range of equipment to delight the most discerning chefs, and a small breakfast table where you can keep the chef company! The rear porch has storage for outdoor gear, and the utility room has a washer and dryer, sink and adequate drying space.

Two double bedrooms, house shower room and WC are on this floor.

Upstairs there are 2 further en suite bedrooms, the master being huge with arguably the best views, and the other a twin.

The house garage is a hidden gem offering plentiful storage space for cycles, wet weather gear and outdoor equipment. Also a great space for kids or grown-ups to play games on wet weather days.

Due to its elevated position, Hilltop enjoys some of the best views the village has to offer from its ample garden. Raised patios, rockeries and lawned areas surround the house, offering a multitude of spaces to play and dine.

### About The Area

Hilltop is in an elevated position within Coniston village. Coniston is simply an excellent base for any Lake District holiday. The village is packed with friendly pubs, local shops and lively cafes and there is incredible walking straight from the village centre, including Coniston Old Man mountain. The village enjoys ample access to Coniston Water lake shore, with Coniston Boating Centre offering paddle-boarding, kayaking, sailing and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for wild-swimming including the lake, beautiful mountain tarns and the picturesque Church Beck river with its stunning waterfalls and deep, crystal clear pools. For cyclists, there are spectacular off-road mountain biking trails including those at nearby Grizedale Forest, as well as some stunning road routes through some of the country’s most beautiful scenery.

For those who enjoy a quieter pace, The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell is a must visit. Visit the record-breaking Bluebird K7 plus the boat which inspired Swallows and Amazons. Across the lake lies Brantwood, the grand Victorian home of John Ruskin, where visitors can explore the historic house and arts centre and enjoy some delicious food from The Terrace cafe with its breath-taking lake and mountain views.

The wider Lake District area is also very easily accessible from Low How Cottage, with popular destinations such as Ambleside, Keswick, Bowness and Windermere just a short drive away. Or head south into the bustling market town of Ulverston with its famous monument on Hoad Hill. 

In short, Coniston offers everything you could possibly want of a Lake District holiday – all right on your doorstep.
