The hostel was completed in 2018 with over 90% of its materials coming from recycled sources, including wood salvaged after the Falmouth Docks fire, and heated with solar PV. Holifield Hostel sleeps up to 20 guests in 3 bunkrooms of different sizes, either available by the room or with exclusive sue of the whole building. This is a venue and setting perfect for rest and relaxation or adventure and fun days out with family and friends, community groups and groups from other organisations. There's plenty of space for cooking and socialising in the large vegetarian communal kitchen and dining area, or spend time relaxing in the bright and spacious sun-room. Function rooms can also be hired out for special interest group activities and events. The hostel is fully accessible for wheelchair users and guests with mobility impairments — we have a lift, ramps, disabled parking, grab rails, wide doors, wet rooms and a hoist. The main social space is a large dining hall which has catered for up to 50 people in the past, and is fully kitted for self-catering. In here is a piano, a sound system, a video projector, TV, and a freely available espresso machine. In the conservatory is a pool table and table tennis, and outside we have a large outdoor shelter (Pizza Dock) with a pizza oven (pizzas available to order), picnic tables, BBQ, and a big firepit with firewood ready to reserve. Our new sauna will be up here too! Holifield Hostel sits within 20 acres, with great views and home to a wonderful range of wildlife. There's a woodland trail through the ancient woods, down to the lily pond, up and along the stream, and looping around the Tumulus field. We're by the Helford estuary and so very close to excellent beaches along the Lizard and to the west as well as big stretches of broadleaf woodland. Holifield is 20-25 mins from Falmouth, 30-40 mins from St. Ives, 30 mins from Lizard Point, 30 mins from Marazion (St Michael's Mount), 30 mins from Truro, 35 mins from Penzance, and 1 hour from Land's End. ## Facilities - **Dog Friendly:** No pets as a general rule, please enquire if you would like to bring one. - **Accessibility:** Accessible bathrooms, ramps, lift, grab rails, disabled parking. - **Hot Tub:** An outdoor wood fired hot tub treat takes 6 people. Needs a couple of days notice to set up. Extra cost of £80. - **WiFi:** Free WiFi. Poor mobile phone signal at the hostel but plenty by the entrance to the site. - **Kitchen:** 6 gas hobs, electric oven, fully kitted with large pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, oil and salt. 3 fridges and a freezer. Microwave, toaster, kettles. - **Dining Room:** Long tables and plenty of chairs, room for more than 20. - **Sitting Room:** TV, video projector and screen easy to use, sound system, piano, books. In the same space as the dining room and kitchen. - **TV and Music Facilities:** 40in flatscreen, HDMI ready projector, Firestick and laptop to use with either TV or projector, sound system. Silent disco available for free hire! - **Games Room:** Pool table, table football and table tennis in the conservatory. Darts at the Pizza dock. Basketball net. - **Heating and Open Fires:** Central heating powered by solar PV in the summer and our Biomass boiler in the winter. - **Bedrooms:** 3 rooms with bunkbeds: 1sleeps 8, the others sleep 6 each. USB ports for each bed, lamps, curtains, sink and lockers. - **Linen:** Beds made up and extra pillows available on request. Towels available to hire for an extra £1 each. - **Bathrooms:** 2 wetrooms with a toilet and shower and 1 upstairs with a toilet and bath upstairs. 4th toilet downstairs. - **Children's Facilities:** Travel cot available. - **Outdoor:** Woodland nature trail. Outdoor shelter and patio with picnic tables and BBQ. Large firepit extra £50.
