For walkers and nature lovers, Hollin House sits in a wonderful corner of Northumberland, the perfect escape from everyday life. Try the Greenhaugh and Thorneyburn circular walk, with a wealth of wildlife and glorious summer wildflowers, or explore the nearby Bellingham section of the Pennine Way. Kielder Water and Forest offers miles of trails and spectacular scenery, while historic Hexham, the gateway to Hadrian’s Wall, is a great day out. The local pub in Greenhaugh comes highly recommended for a break from self catering. At Hollin House the well equipped kitchen, complete with a large island, is the perfect setting for cooking up a feast after a day outdoors. Settle down around the dining table for long meals together or take things outside when the weather is kind. The light and airy sitting room is made for relaxing and catching up, with comfy seating, books, artwork, a piano and a television, while the large original fireplace and staircase crafted from estate wood both add a sense of history.  Outside, there’s a small seating area at the front, plus a magical wooded area tucked away with places to sit and a swing set for the children. An enchanting space for morning coffee, woodland adventures and letting little legs run free. And yes, your dog is welcome too. The house is thoughtfully arranged for the needs of a mixed group, including a wheelchair friendly ground-floor bedroom with its own spacious wet room. Upstairs you’ll find a mix of king size and twin bedrooms, so everyone can have a comfortable night’s sleep.
