Ideally located with the Peak District towns of Matlock, Bath and Bakewell nearby, Holly Bank House has an abundance of activities and places to visit within close proximity. It's a perfect base for groups wanting to explore the Peak District and works perfectly for families and mixed groups.

A spacious 5 bedroom house with remarkable views, Holly Bank House offers flexible sleeping configurations with twin or double bedrooms, family rooms, bunk beds and an additional sofa bed in the lounge for a couple of extra little ones if needed. The property is great for 10 adults but can accommodate family groups of up to 14 with children.

The property is on split levels; on entering the property you are welcomed by a spacious hallway with a double-sided log burner. There is a large, beautifully decorated, bright lounge with plenty of soft seating to fall into whilst relaxing in front of the cosy log burner after a day exploring the local area. Down a few steps is a generous open-plan kitchen and dining area with additional conservatory perfect for socialising or admiring the far reaching views. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a large dining table with seating for up to 14 guests so you can easily enjoy either a homemade meal or maybe you'd prefer to hire one of our recommended external caterers to give you a break for the night.

The property has 5 individually designed bedrooms which can be made up as doubles or twins to cater to your sleeping arrangements. There is one en suite shower room in the master bedroom, a further 2 shared shower rooms and an impressive luxury shared family bathroom with a large roll-top bath to soak in after taking advantage of the nearby cycling or walking routes.

Off the kitchen there is a patio area with a built in coal barbecue (coal not provided) and a picnic bench to enjoy alfresco dining. There is a small lawned area at the front of the property and plenty of areas around the property to sit and admire the uninterrupted views.

Due to the location of this property, we are unable to accept hen/stag weekends or 30th birthdays.

Up to two dogs are allowed if pre-arranged - please keep them out of the bedrooms and off the soft furnishings. We do charge ÂŁ30 per dog.

There are three TVs throughout the property with freeview/freesat and one DVD player. Bluetooth speaker also available.

There is no games room.

Heating and Open Fires

Central heating throughout. Log burner located in the wall between the hallway and lounge, one complimentary basket of logs provided on arrival.

Bedrooms

5 bedrooms sleeping up to 12 guests, all with option of being made up as twins or doubles, 1 also with bunkbeds. Sofa bed in lounge for family groups.

Linen

High quality linen throughout all bedrooms and beds made on arrival. Bath towel for each guest and hand towels in the bathrooms.

Bathrooms

There are four bathrooms in total, one large luxurious family bathroom, master bedroom en suite and two further shower rooms.

Children's Facilities

Two travel cots and two high chairs available on request.

Outdoor

Garden patio with outdoor furniture and charcoal barbecue – please bring your own charcoal.

Swimming Pool

There is no swimming pool, however Matlock swimming pool is only a 5 minute drive away.

Parking for a maximum of 5 cars on the driveway.

Location

Perched on the hilltop of the village of Darley Dale, less than 10 mins drive from the towns of Bakewell and Matlock. Only a 3.5 mile walk on bridle and footpaths to the edge of the Chatsworth Estate.

  • Nearest bus stop is in Darley Dale which is on the Transpeak route (Manchester - Derby) as well as other local bus routes including Matlock, Chesterfield and Chatsworth.
  • Matlock railway station is less than 3 miles away and Chesterfield railway station with direct trains from London is 10 miles away.
  • Conveniently located equidistant from the popular market town of Bakewell and the charming town of Matlock, both of which are only a 10 minute drive away.
  • There is a Local 4 U convenience store in Darley Dale (3 minute drive away) which is is open 7 days a week. The nearest supermarket is Sainsburys just on the outskirts of Matlock.
  • There is a good Indian restaurant at the bottom of the hill, they also offer a take-away service. An abundance of restaurant, cafes and pubs in the nearby towns of Matlock and Bakewell.
  • East Midlands airport is 38 miles away (approx 1 hour drive) and Manchester airport 40 miles away.
