Home House, Washford, Watchet, Somerset, sleeps 16-27 in 10 bedrooms.
The house is perfect for groups of family and friends who want to stay together. Newly refurbished with a modern kitchen dining room with an extendable dining table that can seat up to 28 people and a cosy, bespoke, luxury country kitchen with modern electric Aga, Fisher Paykal fridge and large 4 metre island with granite worktop. Sliding glass doors open up wonderful views of the Brendon Hills and extend the inside into the outdoor courtyard. Underfloor heating and open log fires. Each bathroom is newly renovated with high pressure shower and relaxing bath.
The 10 bedrooms are very flexible with the beds being able to be made up according to your needs. High quality new beds and mattresses with zip and link system mean you can request either single or superking beds or both in each room, with luxury bedlinen.
The sitting room has a 50 inch TV, DVD player, Oka sofas, board games, underfloor heating and an open fire. There is a games room with table-tennis table. Also a separate welly boot room, downstairs WC and washing machine utility room.
The location of the house is set within 70 acres of farmland ideal for walking and getting out into the fresh air including informal football and cricket games. Also possible to arrange clay pigeon shooting, croquet and archery activities. Bikes are available for use to explore the surrounding area. 200 yards to one side of the house is a Cistercian 12 Century Abbey owned by Historic England and open to the public. It hosts various events during the year. 100 yards to the other side of the house is our village pub. It has great food, drink and atmosphere as well as a skittle alley and they welcome adults and children.
2 miles away is the Bristol Channel coastline, which offers walking and fossil hunting. Historic villages such as Dunster with its medieval yarn market and Castle, and Watchet Harbour with amazing fish and chips are a few miles away. The West Somerset Steam railway runs along the coast from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard with great views and a station in our village. Carriages are available to hire for large groups. Blue Anchor is another great stop off point, 3 miles away on the coast.
