Howgills Barn is a beautifully renovated Barn set within 5 acres of countryside with the backdrop of green, rolling fells called 'The Howgills'. The Barn is snuggled between the much-loved Lake District and the charming Yorkshire Dales of Sedbergh. We offer group accommodation (for up to 35 guests) for large family holidays, special occasions and celebrations, Hen and Stag parties, Business team days, School Residentials and we are also a registered civil wedding venue.

The Barn offers eight en suite bedrooms, a large open plan lounge with dining area, 2 kitchens, a quiet room (TV lounge), a drying room, a Games room and an outdoor 2 acre games field. The main Barn lounge opens up on to a south facing terrace where there are BBQs and a glazed gazebo with a hot tub (please note hot tub is an 'optional' extra - charges apply). The hot tub is perfect for unwinding or even stargazing with a glass of something 'nice', whilst reminiscing about the day! The Barn offers some luxurious touches such as flagged floors with underfloor heating, TV lounge with Sky TV and a blue tooth Sonos music system with surround sound; perfect for an evening party! There is free Wi fi and parking for up to 25 - 30 cars. We are family friendly and offer books, games as well as free cots and high chairs. Dogs welcome too.

If your idea is to use our Barn as your holiday base, you are centrally situated for easy travel distance to explore not only the Yorkshire Dales National Park, but also the Lake District National Park and both Eden and Lune Valley areas. We also offer onsite activities, if you don't fancy going far and these include; wine tasting, archery, geo-caching, prosecco picnics, pamper sessions to name a few! The Barn is a two minute walk to the fells which is great for an 'amble' or a good day of hiking or mountain biking.

Howgills Barn is located in the old Market Town of Sedbergh, with its cobbled yards and unique atmosphere and there are lovely local shops and pubs, cafes to explore (places to explore are included on our website).

Two kitchens with plenty of utensils, pans cooking equipment etc. Main kitchen has dishwasher and Range cooker. Both have microwaves, toasters, kettle
Seating for 36. - Main area has 4/5 tables each capable of seating 6. Ground floor kitchen has 4 further tables seating 16.
Large lounge and dining room next to main kitchen. Lounge looks out to the Howgill Fells towards Crook and Winder over the patio with tables & chairs.
Large TV and DVD player in the mezzanine area with Sonos bluetooth music system with surround sound
Mobile reception is very good for most services. Broadband Internet facilities available. WiFi free and cabled network to plug into.
Some dual use with meeting room. Table Tennis (Ping Pong) table can be stored to use auditorium for other uses.
Under floor central heating throughout with independent thermostats for all areas. There is an area outside that is suitable for small bonfires. BBQs
8 bedrooms with 4 beds in each. Sleeping 4-6 people with en-suite rooms to a total of 35 people - Bedroom B has a double and Bedroom H has 2 doubles.
Each bed has Mattress protector and pillow and protector and pillowcase cover. Bedding & Towels hire at £6.00 pp duvet, linen and towel hire or BYO.
En-suite showers to each bed room. 2 extra showers in separate room with WC and 2 extra toilets on ground floor.
Disabled guests most welcome please phone to discuss the range of facilities we have on site. We also have 2 bed level access at Howgills Apartments
Children most welcome if accompanied by well behaved parents. Cots and mattress (without bedding) and high chairs
5 acres land for ball games and open fell with streams adjacent with good clear footpaths to the Howgill Fells. Bonfire & BBQs. Hot tub.
Public Swimming Pool available (10 miles) at Kendal at cost.
Single lane with passing places leading to space for at least 20 vehicles. Long wheelbase trailers and large wide Camper vans not suitable for lane.
Not in buildings or near window or door openings.
By arrangement £15 per animal per stay. If booked as part of a sole occupancy group then animals can be in lounges and corridors but not on furniture.

Sedbergh, Yorkshire Dales National Park. - M6 Jct 37, Through Sedbergh. Turn up Castlehaw Lane - next to Westwoods Book Store on East side of Sedbergh
Sedbergh is 300 metres down our lane and England's official Book Town with interesting shops and tea rooms to browse the days away.
400 metres into Sedbergh Main Street where there is a local Spar supermarket is a short 800 yard drive away near Health Centre.
500 meters to Bull Hotel, Dalesman Inn and The Red Lion which serve food as well as a good range of local speciality beers. Dent Brewery beers also.

Booking Information

We have reduced our weekend prices to £750 for the weekend, which includes private hire of the Barn for a group of up to 6 people which works out at £62.50 per person per night. Please note that the hire of the hot tub is an optional extra.
