Howgills Barn is set up a winding lane, offering peace and privacy, however, it is only a 5-minute stroll into the market town of Sedbergh. Surrounded by picturesque fells and fields, its location provides the opportunity for both children and adults to get in touch with nature.
The Barn has sleeping facilities for up to 28 students and teaching staff. There are 7 en suite bedrooms for students, 5 of them bunkrooms sleeping 4 students per room, and one room for teaching staff.
The Barn also offers an inside games room and ‘tractor shed’ lecture theatre for learning with a difference! There is an outside games field and a large patio with barbecues, and also a drying room. Inside are 2 lounges and a large catering kitchen with seating for up to 35 guests.
We work in partnership with the Field Studies Council (FSC) which is an environmental education charity committed to helping people understand and be inspired by the natural world. FSC offers both fieldwork and adventurous activities for primary, secondary, A’Level, International Baccalaureate, and University students. Through our partnership, FSC delivers outdoor learning at and around our Barn in Sedbergh.
Through our delivery of education programs with FSC, we can offer minibus hire (seating 16).
