Howgills House offers a taste of luxury for your team event. Situated in beautiful countryside, yet only a 10-minute drive from J37 of the M6, ideal for bringing together members of your team.
Howgills House can be hired exclusively for your business event and offers 12 en suite bedrooms sleeping up to 20 people. ‘The Times’ voted Howgills House as one of the top 20 celebration Houses in the UK in July 2022.
Self-catering and catering packages are available. There are 4 break-out areas within Howgills House for different team activities. Free on-site parking and B4RN Wi-Fi (the world’s fastest rural broadband) plus data projector, screens and flip charts are available.
There are 2 undercover hot tubs outside and ‘Howgrills’ which offers outside dining preparation; BBQs, fridges, areas, plus a snooker table and table tennis. Outside marquees are also available for hire.
We work with trusted partners to provide exciting, experiential and engaging events for your organisation, tailored to your requirements: including ghyll scrambling, orienteering, archery, and water sport activities on the nearby Killington Lake.
We own two other properties nearby (Howgills Barn and Howgills Apartments), which can be used to accommodate additional team members if required.

We recommend 1 guest per bedroom (sleeping 12 guests) or 1 person per bed; with 2 people in some rooms (sleeping up to 20 guests). Please get in touch about the packages we offer and prices.

Booking Information

Pricing is inclusive of all facilities (hot tub, bedding, and towels). We have a minimum of a 2-night stay over weekends and mid-week stays. In July and August, we have a 3-night minimum stay. Please note that a security bond of £1000 is required, fully refundable if there is no damage to our property. Discounted rates are available for smaller groups.

Howgills House is a 5-minute drive from the centre of Sedbergh. Easy access to both the South Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales.

Sedbergh is less than 1 mile and England's official Book Town with interesting shops and tea rooms to browse the days away.
Less than 1 mile into Sedbergh Main Street where there is a Spar supermarket. A short 800-yard drive away near Health Centre.
Less than 1 mile to Bull Hotel, Dalesman Inn, and The Red Lion which serve food as well as a good range of local specialty beers. Dent Brewery beers also.
Blackpool Airport 60 miles, Teeside/Durham Airport 60 miles, Leeds/Bradford Airport 65 miles, Manchester 90 miles, Liverpool 90 miles.
West Coastline - Oxenholme - The Lake District 10 miles. Settle-Carlisle line - Kirkby Stephen 12 miles, Dent 10 miles, and Garsdale 9 ½ miles.
Sedbergh – less than 1 mile. The bus stop with links to train stations.
