Hudscales Camping Barn near Wigton is one of a collection of well-maintained farm buildings on a working sheep and cattle farm. Situated in the Lake District National Park, the barn provides excellent access to the Northern Fells and amazing views for walkers and cyclists. The barn is ideal for group travellers, or individuals happy to share facilities - get a group of friends together for a weekend or longer break in this peaceful haven away from the strains of modern life.
The barn offers very simple but comfortable accommodation for a group of friends or outdoor enthusiasts - camping without the tent, so you need to bring everything else with you please! There's a cooking and dining area with a wood-burning stove, a cosy space. Adjoining this is a sleeping area with mattresses for a maximum of 12. Upstairs there's a games room with a pool table and darts. Shower and electric plug sockets are available and are powered by a coin meter which accepts £1 coins.
Hot and cold running water are available, with toilet and shower facilities. The kitchen has some essential items - kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge - and outside there's a barbecue and fire pit too.
The setting of the barn is something special - situated at 1,000 feet on the northernmost flank of the Lakeland Fells, it's 2 miles from the villages of Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket with pubs, cafes, and village shops to accommodate all needs. Located on the Cumbria Way and Reiver Cycle Routes, this accommodation is perfect for groups of walkers, cyclists, family gatherings and friends' reunions.
Only 30 minutes from Carlisle, Penrith, and Keswick, the barn provides an ideal opportunity to get back in touch with nature while exploring the UNESCO-designated Lake District National Park.
