Hurstone House has all of the hallmarks of a luxury country pad although it was originally a large farmhouse. Walking up the steps to the beautiful wisteria-clad entrance feels really special. This holiday house near Taunton offers the perfect combination of traditional features, period furniture, wood burning stoves, great views and modern additions including a games room and Sky packages. It's a fantastic house for extended families and friends gathering for a big anniversary or just some quality time away. Hikers and cyclists will love the local trails and proximity to a wonderful nature reserve as well as the village gastro pub.

Sitting down to eat together in the formal dining room is a real treat, with a cosy wood burner and stunning south facing views. The drawing room, a beautiful room with a beamed ceiling, is a sociable space for everyone to relax after dinner with lots of comfy seating, or head to the snug with velvet Chesterfields, a piano and another wood burner. This choice of living accommodation works well for a mixed age group where extra space is important. And of course the snooker room is great for family bonding and fun competition.

Outside there's a patio with furniture and a barbecue as well as a hot tub in the rear courtyard, an excellent area for unwinding at the end of a day exploring. All against the lovely backdrop of gorgeous grounds, for croquet, quoits or skittles on the lawn, with a designated paddock for ball games and football.

A useful combination of 7 equally charming upper floor bedrooms, 4 with en suites, plus a family bathroom and ground floor shower room keeps everyone happy. The annexe ground floor bedroom with wet room offers extra accommodation, but please note there are steps to the front door of the house.

Hurstone House is tucked away in delightful Somerset countryside with charming villages and towns offering good pubs and eateries including Milverton, Wiveliscombe, Bampton and Wellington. Visit Exmoor and its dramatic coastline for the Valley of Rocks where it is said the devil turned his wives to stone.

Games room with snooker table. Well stocked games cupboard in drawing room.

3 doubles and 1 twin have en suites. Family suite with twin and double. Ground floor annex king and en suite.

Booking Information

A 20% deposit is required to secure the booking and the balance due 12 weeks before arrival. A refundable damage deposit of £500 is asked for. Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am.
