The Roundstone Regatta is held in July each year and Island View probably offers some of the best seats in the house to watch the traditional sailing vessels and rowing competitions. Roundstone itself is a pretty coastal village and well worth a wander around the quaint harbour watching the boats come in and sampling the local shops and cafes. Boat tours of the bay also available in summer season. National park, Kylemore Abbey and boats to Aran and Inish boffin all less than 1 hr away. Galway, over an hour away, is the only city on the Wild Atlantic Way and marks the halfway point. Galway is a cosmopolitan centre full of culture, cobbled streets, festivals and bars - a grand day out.
