James's Parlour is a spacious well designed converted barn, near the charming market town of Whitchurch in Shropshire, that can accommodate 12 people comfortably. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, there's also plenty of space for 2 travel cots. Many original features have been retained, including beams, trusses and brick pillars making for an interesting mix of traditional with modern.
This lovely barn is perfect for a large family holiday, a friends get away or to celebrate a special occasion. The dining table comfortably sits 12, perfect for a celebration meal or a simple family feast. The modern kitchen is well equipped to cater for large groups, with plenty of tableware and kitchen utensils.
Outside, there's a very large enclosed garden with a patio area and outside furniture. This area affords incredible views across the Shropshire countryside and is a suntrap in summer. A great spot for watching the sun go down whilst you enjoy an alfresco meal with something bubbly or a fun picnic with the children!
There are an amazing array of facilities on site, starting with a heated indoor swimming pool that can be booked for exclusive use. There's a multi-sports court for football, tennis, badminton and basketball, a super under 5's play area and, in high season, there's a family-friendly cricket area. The woodland picnic and wildlife area on the farm grounds are a really popular family haunt. There are also areas for bird-watching and star-gazing in these deep, dark, rural skies. We can offer a Pamper Session, Afternoon Tea or the services of a private Chef in the comfort of your barn too.
'Something for everyone' might be an overused phrase, but it's spot on for James's Parlour. The location in the heart of the Shropshire countryside suits all kinds of activities and adventures – close to the charming market town of Whitchurch, itself just a couple of miles from the Welsh border, and within easy range of days out to places including Chester Zoo, the woodland park at Bewilderwood or the historic Ironbridge Gorge. Walks on the doorstep include the Shropshire Way, running straight through the farm, while the Shropshire Union Canal is less than a mile from the site.
