The Coach House and The Stables are interconnecting cottages on the 2000 acre Kinblethmont Estate in Angus. These holiday houses near Arbroath are a good choice for 3 generation families, groups of friends, walkers, cyclists, golfers and wedding guests wanting to get away from it all or to meet up for a special birthday. Recently renovated, the houses have been designed with open plan living and large picture windows and doors. The sun room in The Coach House is a wonderful light filled area with cafe style seating and rocking chairs, and with a large dining table for 14 - it opens onto the terrace and garden area.
Both cottages have handy entrance porches for wet coats and muddy wellies, plus a utility area. 2 fully equipped kitchens work well for preparing group meals, both kitted out with dishwashers and all the necessary facilities. The sitting rooms are cosy spaces, with cosy wood burners and Sky TV. 2 lounges ensure flexibility for a mixed group and different age groups. The sun room is a delightful space for reading a book, sipping a coffee or just enjoying views onto the woodlands - look out for red squirrels. And the doors open direct onto the patio when the weather is fine.
The Coach House has a downstairs double and a bathroom, convenient for anyone in the gathering for whom stairs are tricky. Otherwise, bedrooms are a mix of kings, twins, a double and a family room ideal for 4 or as a den for the children. Any of the twin bedrooms can be made up as doubles on request. In The Coach House there are 2 en suites, a separate shower room and a family bathroom with freestanding bath. The Stables has 1 bathroom with a shower bath.
There is plenty to do on the estate, with walks from the door, a Victorian walled garden to enjoy, as well with a play area, table tennis and lawns for the children. The seaside town of Arbroath is only 10 minutes away with a sandy beach, historic attractions and access to the Arbroath to Auchmithie Coastal Path for walkers. Keen golfers will appreciate the close proximity of Carnoustie, with 3 great links courses.
