Dearne Valley can accommodate up to 300 young people at one time in:

36 x 10 bedded dorms
48 x adult twin rooms

However, we can reduce the number of beds in each room to accommodate group sizes.

Pupils sleep in warm purpose-built dormitory-style accommodation, with gender-separated bathroom and shower facilities. Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided for all guests and teacher rooms are close by.

Or, try our adventure lodges! Providing a comfortable and secure base for your group, adventure lodges offer a feeling of getting back to nature that camping brings, but there’s no tent to put up or take down! Enjoy the comforts of Kingswood’s normal accommodation in a novel and exciting atmosphere. We have:

2 x 8 bedded adult lodges

Formerly the Earth Centre, one of the millennium commission projects, Dearne Valley opened its doors as a Kingswood centre in 2012. Following a multi-million pound investment programme, Dearne Valley is our most environmentally sustainable centre, complete with one of Europe’s largest solar panels and an on-site water treatment plant.

With newly designed ropes courses, an indoor climbing wall, zipwires, a fantastic 105m2 indoor sports hall and outdoor sports complex with more than 35 exciting activities, including watersports, this centre offers adventure at every turn. We also throw discos, karaoke parties, DVD nights, quizzes and a whole host of evening entertainment for the perfect end to the day.

We host schools and groups such as youth groups, brownies, scouts, cadets, sports clubs, organisations and many more.

Kitchen

No self catering, but our recently refreshed teacher rooms have contemporary furnishings, tea and coffee making facilities. Full catering provided.

Dining Room

To fuel young guests during a day of activities, we serve three hot meals per day, with lots of choice and seasonal variations.

Sitting Room

We have a lounge room called The Hub, which has giant bean bags so the students can chill out after an exciting day of activities.

TV and Music Facilities

We have a TV in The Hub, but can also provide a TV in the conference room upon request for a DVD night. We also host discos.

Games Room

We have a ping-pong table in The Hub, and will shortly also have a pool table.

Heating and Open Fires

Our centre is fully heated. There are no open fires, but we can host barbecues on request.

Bedrooms

Warm purpose-built dormitory-style accommodation, with leader rooms located nearby. Or try our glamorous Adventure Lodges - camping made easy!

Linen

Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided for all guests.

Bathrooms

All student and teacher rooms are en suite.

Children's Facilities

We have a range of activities to suit an age range of 7-17 year olds.

Outdoor

Swimming Pool

Dearne Valley does not have a swimming pool, but we host a range of activities in our watersports lake.

Smoking is only permitted in our designated smoking areas. However, no visitors under the age of 16 are permitted to smoke within the centre grounds.
