Flexible, quality accommodation with exclusive use or as separate units. (Off-peak the main house is also available with sole use for smaller groups of 14-18). Space to be together…. and space to be apart!

La Châtaigneraie offers a spectacular base for a large group or family gathering in the fabulous French Pyrénées - 40 minutes from ski resorts and Mediterranean beaches. Special interest groups welcomed for yoga, mountaineering, hiking, painting, cycling and bird watching.

With 2 acres of gardens and superb views in all directions, we offer a unique combination of great facilities for large groups to socialise together whilst affording privacy to enjoy precious time away from the crowd. Many patios and terraces enable the whole group to BBQ together. Space for team games along with areas of peace and tranquility.

Each gite is completely independent with its own lounge, TV/DVD and kitchen facilities offering great flexibility. The central kitchen is equipped to cater for up to 30 people. The impressive lounge has leather sofas, log-burner, cinema-style 5-metre film screen and indoor dining for 28.

Facilities include WiFi, swimming pool, gym, library, flood-lit boules court, mountain bikes and games room with pool-table and table-football.

Our visiting “Chef à Domicle” can prepare reasonably priced, restaurant-quality meals and excellent menus for special occasions. The village bistro welcomes large groups and is a scenic 15 minute walk. The boulangerie delivers freshly-baked bread and croissants each morning making breakfast stress free!

This picturesque area is a walker’s paradise, steeped in culture and history. The spa town of Vernet les Bains is less than 2 miles away, with market, shops and restaurants. A huge range of sports, spas and activities, along with many of France’s most beautiful villages, such as Eus and Villefranche de Conflent, are nearby.

## Facilities

- **Dog Friendly:** It is not possible to accommodate pets due to the close proximity of open farmland. (But we do enjoy a wealth of wildlife, birds and butterflies!).
- **Accessibility:** Unfortunately, set into a hillside with many steps and slopes, it is not well-suited to many disabled people.
- **WiFi:** Free WiFi throughout. Good mobile phone signal. Free calls to UK landlines if required.
- **Kitchen:** Large central kitchen with 2 ovens, hobs & fridges. 3 gite kitchens each with oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer. Shared laundry facilities.
- **Dining Room:** Table for 30 can be arranged in the main lounge. Variety of outdoor seating areas to BBQ, sit and eat together. Each unit has own dining table/chairs.
- **Sitting Room:** There is a very spacious central lounge with leather sofas, TV/DVD, music, log-burner and 5m cinema-style film screen. Each unit has its own lounge.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** Each gite has TV/DVD with lots of DVDs. The main lounge has 5m cinema-style screen with bluetooth surround sound. Poolside gazebo with bluetooth music
- **Games Room:** Well-equipped gym. Games room with pool-table, table-football, library, a good selection of board games, toys and outdoor rackets and balls
- **Heating and Open Fires:** Central heating throughout. La Capsole and main lounge have log-burners (a small charge for logs). Heating is included in cost when required.
- **Bedrooms:** 13 bedrooms: 8 doubles (7 en suite), 4 twin rooms (1 en-suite) and 1 room with bunk-beds. King/twin sofabed in Tres Estelle. 2 cots, 2 z-beds.
- **Linen:** Hotel-quality bed linen, bathroom towels, bath-mats, tea-towels and dishcloths provided free of charge. Pool/beach towels available for €5 per person
- **Bathrooms:** 12 bathrooms, most with shower, 8 en-suite. 1 bath with shower, master-bedroom suite with corner bath and separate shower, downstairs loo / shower.
- **Children's Facilities:** Full baby-kit available with cots, highchair, potty, changing mat, food liquidiser and some toys.
- **Outdoor:** 2 acres of gardens with gorgeous views, patios and barbecue facilities. Space for football/rounders etc. Floodlit boule/volleyball/badminton court.
- **Swimming Pool:** Outdoor pool 11m x 4m with motion sensor pool alarm. Uniform depth of 1.4m. Stepped sides mean children can easily climb out all the way around.
- **Parking:** Plenty of parking space, free of charge.
- **Smoking:** Smoking is not permitted indoors. Outdoor smoking areas.
