Lanehead offers its guests simple, spacious, comfortable and practical accommodation. This magnificent home can adequately sleep up to 27 within 8 roomy en suite bedrooms, the majority of which enjoy breathtaking lake and mountain views.

Standing in an elevated position overlooking Coniston Water, the village and the dramatic fells beyond, Lanehead is superbly situated for those who wish to explore the delights of the local area. Outdoor enthusiasts will revel in endless water based activities available on Coniston Water and within the Coppermines Valley, whilst cyclists, both road and mountain, will relish the varied routes available straight from the front door, including Grizedale Forest and its renowned North Face trail.

Historically, this impressive home was once owned by William Collingwood, secretary to John Ruskin and a renowned artist in his own right. Furthermore it is believed that Arthur Ransome, a close friend of Collingwood and author of the world famous Swallows & Amazons, spent much time at Lanehead and taught Collingwood's grandchildren to sail on the lake.

Culture lovers will find solace in the nearby Brantwood House, the historic home of John Ruskin which now encompasses a museum, delightful gardens and vibrant arts scene. Lanehead’s setting alone should be enough to inspire any visitor and allow creative juices to flow, whether by painting the surrounding landscape as Collingwood did many years ago, or enjoying blissful yoga classes on the front lawn.

- **Heating and Open Fires:** A wood burner in each reception room. Carbon neutral biomass central heating system.
- **Bedrooms:** 8 bright & comfortable en suite rooms. Each room features a superking zip/link bed along with 1 or 2 single beds. 2 rooms have adult size bunks.
- **Linen:** Linen and towels provided.
- **Bathrooms:** 8 en suite shower rooms and two separate toilets.
- **Children's Facilities:** High chair available on request.
- **Outdoor:** 1.2 acres of private gardens surround the house, overlooking the lake and dramatic fells beyond. Substantial lawned area with picnic tables.
- **Parking:** 10 parking spaces on the driveway.
- **Smoking:** Smoking or vaping not permitted.
