Located in the Midi-Pyrenees, and with stunning views of Pic du Cagire, Le Grand Chalet is a stunning holiday house near Toulouse for multi-generational families, friends, cycling and hiking enthusiasts who can enjoy the amazing trails of this fascinating landscape. The nearest ski station is 40 minutes away, and the mountains are glorious in summer, making this a good choice at any time of year. This traditional quintessentially French chalet offers family-friendly accommodation, a salt water swimming pool and wonderful mountain views.
The chalet is separated into 4 suites - 3 sleeping 4, 1 sleeping 3 - and groups of 8 or more taking at least 3 suites will have exclusive use of the whole chalet, which includes a large living room with squashy sofas, a wood burner and a TV, somewhere cosy to relax on chillier evenings, or as an escape from the midday heat. Features including ceiling beams and traditional windows and doors for a truly French experience. Please note that there is no kitchen. Crisp and cool bed linen and contemporary or Italian bathrooms provide comfort and convenience for each suite.
Le Grand Chalet is all about the outdoors. The terrace is a great space for a meal, and there is a pretty garden seating area and hidden corners for a cup of tea or glass of local wine. The balcony on the 1st floor surrounds 3 sides, accessed from French doors and an idyllic spot for evening drinks after a day in the sun. Take a dip in the salt water pool and relax on the loungers while the kids make a splash.
The bustling village of Aspet is a short walk from Grand Chalet, full of cafes and restaurants, independent shops and a bi-weekly market selling local produce. The area is a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts with opportunities for caving and paragliding. Thermal baths and cultural sites including St Bertrand de Comminges are within easy reach.
