Lorton House, Broadwey, Weymouth, Dorset

Sleeps 8 - 16 8 Bedrooms 16 Dining

Country holiday house near Weymouth sleeping 16 with a games room, for family get togethers and special occasions with friends

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Lorton House, Broadwey, Weymouth, Dorset, sleeps 8 - 16 in 8 bedrooms.

This holiday home near Weymouth oozes laid back luxury in a beautiful Victorian villa surrounded by 11 acres of parkland, gardens, woodland and pretty spectacular coastal views. Lorton House, sleeping 16, combines gorgeous original design features with comfortable modern living and is ideal for multi generational families and friends to get together for a weekend break, celebration or holiday. Lorton House is also licensed to hold micro weddings.

Perched on the edge of a Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Lorton House has some great walks and cycling routes from the door, including to the iconic Portland Bill lighthouse and Weymouth itself. The seaside resort of Weymouth is a 15 minute drive, home to sandy beaches, traditional beach huts and a pretty little harbour. Shallow waters provide a great safe place for the children to splash about and have fun while adult groups can try their hand at kayaking or paddle boarding. Dorchester, in the opposite direction, is a lively county town with a range of shops, cafes, museums and some extremely well preserved Roman ruins.

The living accommodation at Lorton House serves as a reminder of time gone by, from the grand entrance hall on arrival to the traditional kitchen and elegant drawing room. The cellar games room is a popular spot for some good old fashioned competitive fun over a game of billiards or table football.  After enjoying a meal together, the drawing room is a lovely place to sit back and relax next to the open fireplace and perhaps enjoy one of the board games. There is a smaller dining space just off the kitchen and a smaller sitting room, ideal for privacy and choice for a mixed gathering.

All 8 bedrooms are beautifully presented and a convenient mix of doubles, twins and even a 4 poster. 6 have en suite facilities and 1 is on the ground floor so is perfect for anyone less mobile. These lovely individually styled rooms are just what is needed for a good night's sleep at the end of a busy day. Bathroom facilities are plentiful across all floors.

An annexe is also available at extra cost bringing the total number of guests to 18.
