Low Bank Ground, Coniston, Cumbria, sleeps 50 in 15 bedrooms.
The Centre provides fully catered courses with accommodation in small bedrooms for groups of up to 50.
Self-catering weekends and summer weeks are available these can include activities if required.
Low Bank Ground is in the heart of the Lake District on the shores of Coniston water with magnificent views across the lake to the Coniston Fells. It has extensive grounds, a 100 metre lakeshore, boathouse, jetty and wide range of water sports facilities.
Behind the Centre is Grizedale forest with facilities for walking, orienteering, sculpture trails and mountain biking along the many trails or the famous North Face Trail. There are two minibuses for group use and a large diesel boat for lake journeys.
The Centres give students the opportunity to live and learn together in a new and interesting environment. Our aim is:"to provide high quality personal, social and environmental education through outdoor and residential experiences".
There are three options for self catering:
1. Highfield - The building sleeps 36 in 10 bedrooms. There is a mixture of bunk and single beds and half of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. There is also an additional high dependency suite with 2 profile beds air conditioning and full hygiene facilities. There is a kitchen/dining/sitting room upstairs.
2. Rough Close - This building has 4 bedrooms, each en suite, and sleeps 14. There is a kitchen and large dining room/lounge with TV and open fire.
3. Whole Centre - It is possible to hire both Highfield and Rough Close, giving a total of 50 beds.
Yew Tree Lodge at Low Bank Ground is a superb base for all kinds of day visits- outdoor activities, field studies, ICT, meetings and seminars. This facility is available for all groups from the local community to further afield.
