The Flakebridge Estate offers fantastic accommodation and a great range of communal spaces and facilities at Low Barn. It's an ideal option for 3 generation families, friends and couples to get together for a holiday or to celebrate a big birthday. Low Barn also works well for corporate groups, wedding guests and private retreats with versatile spaces to allow for a tailor made experience.
Low Barn has focused on luxury shared living areas to allow groups to eat, relax and stay together. The Glass Room seats 24 for dining, with kitchen space including an Aga. For corporate events The Hide can seat 40 guests. The drawing room has plush seating, an open fire and a large Smart TV with a private staircase leading to the upstairs bar area. Round off an evening of fun in the traditional billiards room with a friendly competition. A large commercial kitchen is available for private hire, and you can bring in outside caterers to create a feast for a special occasion or event (we can recommend private chefs).
The cottages are all self contained with kitchenettes, dining and small sitting areas. The Pole Barn bedrooms are beautifully decorated spaces with Nespresso machine, mini fridge, Smart TV and wonderful views of Eden Valley fells. All of the rooms have en suites and 1 room is on the ground floor.
Nestled in the Cumbrian countryside, Flakeland Estate has walks from the door and public footpaths through some sections of the estate woodlands. Appleby-in-Westmorland, a few minutes away, has its own castle and a walk up Boroughgate will transport visitors back into Medieval England. Keen walkers can head to the North Pennines or the Lake District for great trails and a range of watersports.
