Low Costa Mill, Pickering, North Yorkshire, sleeps 2-33 in 16 bedrooms.

A beautiful indoor heated swimming pool and toddler pool is situated in the courtyard alongside the cottages and gardens. Open all year including Chrismtas and New Year.

Sleeps 2 to 33 in 7 cottages, with dining together for 14.

The cottages can be booked individually or as a block with family and friends (but are not suitable for large single sex groups), and offer a total of 33 beds plus cots (and the occasional z-bed suitable for under 12 yrs).

Full week bookings only during school holiday periods. (Friday-Friday). Short breaks (Fri-Mon or Mon-Fri) available at other times. Minimum stay three nights.

Located on the banks of Costa Beck, Low Costa Mill is set in a peaceful haven on the outskirts of Pickering, North Yorkshire. The ancient ‘Costa Beck’ dates back to the 1200s and in times gone by this played an important part, powering the working mill wheel. Now it provides a relaxing setting for 7 holiday cottages.

Grouped around and adjacent to the Low Costa Mill farmhouse, the collection of 7 cottages have been skilfully and sympathetically adapted from former farm and mill buildings. The cottages retain many original features, such as exposed beams and brickwork. The living room of Heron View can comfortably accommodate 14 for socialising together.

The cottages make an ideal base for families, small groups and couples, or for anyone who appreciates the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.

Dave and Tracy, the resident owners, occupy the original farmhouse and are always on hand for help and advice. We will provide cots, high chairs and stairgates and will do our utmost to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

The cottages benefit from being set in 10 acres of gardens and woodland. A large lawn provides an area for relaxing, games including giant snakes and ladders, hopscotch or draughts. A climbing frame, swings and garden toys should keep the children entertained allowing the adults to relax.


Each cottage has its own fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, most with dishwashers and all with ample utensils & crockery.
Full dining facilities either in kitchen area, or part of open plan lounge diner. In Heron View, we can add a further table so 14 can eat together.
Spacious open plan living with ample comfortable seating.
Each lounge contains a TV with built in Freeview, a DVD / Blu-ray player, and a DAB radio.
Free of charge, site-wide super high speed Fibre Wi-Fi network.
There is no games room. We have a lawn for ball games, plus garden draughts, snakes & ladders, hopscotch, plus a selection of board games & jigsaws.
Most cottages have an open fire (logs included in price). Full electric heating also in all cottages.
Well proportioned bedroom sizes with ample storage, king, double or twin, with some zip link. Options of cots or extra fold out beds available.
We provide good quality linen and towels free of charge (except cot linen). Beds made up ready for arrival.
Well fitted, clean bathroom facilities in all cottages. Larger properties have second bathroom/WC facility.
Carters is on ground floor only with level access. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Cots, high chairs and stair gates available at no extra charge. Large range of games and jigsaws available to borrow.
Play area with climbing frames, swings, slides, treehouse. Giant games, undercover sandpit. Large grass area for ball games. Barbecue facilities.
Two indoor heated swimming pools (one a shallow toddler pool) with toilet and changing facilities available.
There is ample free on site parking.
Strictly no smoking in all cottages and communal areas.
Upto 2 well behaved and house trained dogs by arrangement in most cottages. We have our own fully enclosed paddock for exercise. Supplement applies


In rural location, on outskirts of Pickering.
Pickering is approx 1.5 miles away. A quaint market town with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. Plenty for holiday-makers. Home of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and much more
Approx 0.5 mile to large petrol station store, all major supermarkets (inc Asda, Sainsbury and Tesco) deliver to the cottages.
Approx 1.5 miles in Pickering town, and many local village pubs. BBQ facilities available on site and on-site catering can be arranged.
