2017Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Low Mill Outdoor Centre, Askrigg, Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, sleeps 10-40 in 7 bedrooms.
Low Mill is a converted 19th century water mill situated in the village of Askrigg, Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The mill is ideally placed in one of the most beautiful areas in the North of England for outdoor education, environmental education, team building activities and activity adventure holidays or just a get away from it all break in the UK.
In addition to our residential outdoor education courses for schools and youth groups, we are open for adults, friends, company team building, stag/hen parties or any outdoor groups wanting a base to explore the dales either on foot or on bike. Exclusive use is available or, for smaller groups, shared occupation in which case we would avoid mixing incompatible groups together.
The centre comprises bunk accommodation for 40 people in modernised dormitory rooms each with its own en suite facilities. There is a large function room upstairs with original stone work, wooden beams and an open fire. There is an additional smaller “break out” / quiet room off this and a separate dining room. There is also access to a drying room and equipment store, which has been used for bikes.
Across the playing field from Low Mill is the Yorbridge Sports & Leisure Centre, where a gym and fitness suite along with a multi use games area suitable for tennis is available for hire, this needs to be booked via the leisure centre direct. Contact details available on request.
Options are available for groups to stay for a full week or weekends: we can offer fully catered stays with or without activities, bunk and breakfast or groups can choose a self-catered option.
School and youth groups usually opt for a week stay that is fully catered and inclusive of multi activity outdoor sessions, such as caving, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, gorge walking. Low Mill Outdoor Centre is dedicated to the development of young people through outdoor adventure and has operated as such since 1976. Low Mill holds a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, which means we have been inspected and meet the LOtC national standards licensed and inspected by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority.
