Low Mill is a converted 19th century water mill situated in Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The centre is well placed in one of the most beautiful areas in the North of England and provides a great base for outdoor and environmental education, activity adventure holidays and team building activities.
The centre has bunk accommodation for 40 in dormitory rooms each with en suite facilities. The large function room has an open fire and an additional smaller “break out” or quiet room is adjacent, along with the dining room.
School and youth groups usually opt for a fully catered stay for a week or weekend stay with multi activity outdoor sessions included in the package. Activities available include caving, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, gorge walking. All activity programmes are discussed in advanced and tailored to suit your needs.
Low Mill Outdoor Centre is dedicated to the development of young people through outdoor adventure and holds a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge and licensed by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority. This indicates that the centre has been inspected and meets high national standards.
In order to give all young people the opportunity to share the Low Mill experience, regardless of background or ability, a Bursary Fund has been established. Monies from this fund can assist any young person who has financial difficulties, but who wishes to come to Low Mill. Applications forms are available on request.
