Lowbyer Manor Country House is located on the fringe of Alston with it's cobbled streets, variety of shops, pubs and coffee shops. This warm and friendly house is ideal for large groups of family or friends enjoying a break together, with pretty gardens offering stunning views over the fells.

The house stands alone and is perfect for workshops and businesses looking to host training or residential conferences with all our bedrooms en suite and a large lounge, dining room and bar area. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a spectacular landscape comprising sweeping moorlands, cascading waterfalls and colourful hay meadows. With inky-black night skies, vibrant communities and spectacular wildlife there's something to appeal to everyone - from stargazing, and a wide range of outdoor pursuits including fishing, golf, cycling and skiing. Some of the finest grouse moors in the land are close by and the Pennine Way walking route and Isaac’s Tea Trail are among the more popular walks nearby.

Also worth a visit are the South Tynedale Railway, a preserved, 2 ft narrow gauge heritage railway winding from Alston to Slaggyford, and Killhope Lead Mine and Museum.
