Lowfield Farm is an historic Grade 2 listed farmhouse in a totally rural location built in 1585, close to the Limestone Way, the old Roman Road to London. The house sleeps up to 18 - please note that this is the maximum occupancy, and we are unable to accept day guests.
Luxurious Lowfield Farmhouse is perfect for large groups with plenty of space for family and friends to get together. There are 7 bedrooms (2 with 4 poster beds), a large well equipped kitchen with an Aga, a large dining room seating 18, lounge for cosy evenings and a conservatory adjoining the patio and garden with beautiful far reaching countryside views and sunsets. Wildlife abounds in this amazing space, we also have dark skies for sky gazing.
This special house has beautiful walks from the doorstep, our own field for people to use, play football, rounders, cricket, try yoga or even a boot camp.
Lowfield is situated mid country in the Peak District, not far from motorways, so it is easy to meet friends and family from all over the country or even the world for reunions and special occasions, or just for a holiday or short break. Manchester, East Midlands, Leeds, Doncaster and Birmingham Airports are not too far away. Nearby, too, are Chesterfield and Sheffield train stations.
Escape all the stresses and pressure of everyday life in this stunning peaceful paradise, yet close to all the attractions of the area. The pretty market town of Bakewell, home of the famous Bakewell Pudding and the nearby Monsal Trail, Chatsworth with many special events throughout the year, Haddon Hall, Matlock and its illuminations and Buxton with its opera house are all close by (about a 12 minute drive). Visit caves at Castleton and Ladybower Reservoir.
Situated in beautiful Derbyshire countryside, popular for walking, cycling, running, climbing, bird watching, even star gazing, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, including L'Eroica, the vintage bike race. Edale, start of the Pennine Way, is nearby. For the more adventurous, there is the yearly Y?NOT festival attracting famous bands and becoming increasingly popular with all ages.
