Mainsfield is a luxurious but homely holiday house near Settle on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, perfect for gathering together family and friends for a weekend or longer stay, with access to some of the best walking in the country, including the Three Peaks.
Dating back to the 19th century, and retaining many original period features, Mainsfield sleeps 16 and has 8 bedrooms in total (spread over 3 floors), 5 of them are en suite and some are at ground floor level for those requiring greater accessibility. There is a dining space for the whole group in the sociable kitchen diner, with an abundance of living space allowing your group to spread out - the ground floor reception area has comfy chairs and a fireplace, alternatively you can head to the first floor bar which has additional seating and stunning views - the perfect place for a sundowner cocktail or morning coffee. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering, or you can bring in outside caterers for a special celebration dinner.
The games room in the Old Barn outside has a pool table and table football for some light hearted competition. Or relax in the hot tub on the patio - which is available all year round. And for children there are plenty of books and games for hours of fun. Outside there's also a raised lawn area for games and restful wildflower gardens to explore.
This part of north Yorkshire is beautiful - Giggleswick village has a couple of great pubs, both within walking distance from the house, and Settle offers more amenities and restaurants too. There are many attractions to take in too - the iconic Ribbleshead Viaduct, a trip on the Settle-Carlisle Railway, waterfalls and riverside walks, as well as more challenging trails.
