Maison Theresa is believed to have originally been a number of farm workers cottages, converted into the present format in the 1930's. Modernised in 1985, the house has undergone further renovations in more recent years, but retains many of the original features. Maison Theresa is great for family gatherings, special birthdays or groups of friends and can cater for babies to pensioners.
The large lounge has TV, DVDs, videos and a music centre. TV receives French and Free to view English Satellite programmes. There are also books and board games available. Information on activities and places of interest, both local and further afield such as the D Day beaches is available
There is seating for 14 in the dining room and a wisteria covered outside dining area, which also benefits from a 4 burner gas barbecue.
The kitchen is fully fitted and has a breakfast bar, while the adjacent servery houses cutlery, crockery, glasses, an American fridge/freezer with ice maker and drinks fridge.
Snooker/pool can be played in the wood paneled games room where Monopoly and chess can also be played. (Children under the age of 15 to be supervised) Darts and table tennis are available in the cellar.
The 4 double and 3 twin bedrooms are all en suite and have TVs, trouser press/iron and tea and coffee making facilities. There are 2 double rooms and 1 twin on the ground floor, and 2 cots are also provided, making this house suitable for multi-generational family groups.
A 5x10 metre heated swimming pool (May to September) is surrounded by lawn with sun loungers for those wanting some peace and there is a summer house opposite the ornamental dog kennels and near the outdoor chess.
Bourth is a small village with a baker, convenience store, 1 restaurant, a chemist, 2 hairdressers and petrol station. Supermarkets can be found in the nearby towns of Verneuil and L'Aigle. The reputedly 3rd largest market in France is also in L'Aigle. Calais is 3 hours drive. Le Havre and Paris approximately 90 minutes away. Trains to Paris are available from Verneuil.
