Millstone Barn is a quaint and quirky holiday home in Ashover perfect for groups of 8 -10 guests wanting a relaxing base for exploring the many attractions of the Peak District and Derbyshire.
The property has 5 bedrooms all decorated in a country cottage style, 3 of the bedrooms having the option of being made up as king size doubles or twin beds. There is 1 fixed double bedroom and 1 bunk bedroom, with a full size set of bunk beds suitable for adults or children.
The large, cosy lounge at Millstone has exposed stone walls, plenty of plush comfy seating and a welcoming log burner, the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring the local area.
The country cottage style kitchen is the real heart of the home and perfect for socialising. The kitchen is well equipped to cook up a storm, with a Leisure range oven and gas burners. There is an additional table and chairs for 4 people and a lovely soft seating area to one end, which faces the Inglenook fireplace housing a gas log burner. Just off the kitchen is a large dining room with a table and chairs for up to 10 guests; in the summer months the bifold doors can be opened, so you can enjoy a little alfresco dining.
At the front of the property there is a large spacious courtyard area with ample parking space, a decked seating area and lockable bike storage. To the rear of the property there is a beautiful cottage style garden with various lawn areas and fabulous views over the surrounding countryside. There is a 7kw smart EV charging point.
The property is located in the charming village of Ashover, which boasts 3 pubs (all serving food), a butcher, a small café and a tuck shop selling coffees and homemade cakes. Just a few minutes' drive away there is also a fabulous farm shop with an abundance of local produce to try!
The village of Ashover is close to the lovely market towns of Matlock and Chesterfield, with the historic market town of Bakewell, famous for the Bakewell pudding, also only a 20 minute drive away. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are also within easy reach.
