## About The Property

Monkton Wyld Court sleeps 38 across 13 bedrooms.

Monkton Wyld Court is a large mid-19th century gothic mansion and former Rectory, currently run as a rural guest house and Education centre. It is south-facing, overlooking a valley of woods and pasture, some 4 miles from Lyme Regis and the Dorset coast, famous for its fossils.

We offer whole house bookings for conferences, training courses, parties, weddings and other events with friends and family, as well as a separately hired timber lodge, The Wyld Lodge, sleeping up to 5, which is self catering chalet with a compost toilet, living room space and balcony.

There's a stylish living room, The Piano Room and a comfortable function room, The Old Library, which is 8.5m x 6m both of which are included in the rental price. There is also a 13m x 7m assembly/concert hall, The Pine Hall which can be hired separately. This has good acoustics and a piano, capable of accommodating up to 45 people. The Pine Hall is available as a separate hire and ideal for family parties.

We can provide meals in our capacious dining room, or you can hire self-catering facilities which gives you full use of our lovely kitchen. Our cuisine is vegetarian, mostly organic and much of the food we supply comes from our walled garden. We are currently in abundance of summer chard, spinach and fresh greens. There is also an outdoor kitchen, where you can use our barbecue and outdoor fire pit for bonfires on sunny evenings.

Other facilities include table-tennis; a flat lawn suitable for badminton, volleyball, croquet and a children's playground in a Rhododendron thicket.

We do not accept pets of any kind in our property or on our grounds. We make an exception for Christmas.

Monkton Wyld Court is a owned by a charitable trust. Our approach is relaxed and friendly.

## Facilities

- **Dog Friendly:** We don't allow pets due to the animals we have on-site.
- **Accessibility:** Our ground floor is fully accessible with a ramp to the entrance. There is a toilet on the ground floor but no other bathroom facilities at this time.
- **WiFi:** Mobile and 4/5G reception is good, and WiFi is available in some parts of the main house. Our reception has a landline.
- **Kitchen:** We serve vegetarian meals from our Victorian kitchen. This can be rented. There is also a self-catering kitchen & barbecue & pizza oven.
- **Dining Room:** The main dining room seats 38 people.
- **Sitting Room:** The Piano Room has a south-facing bay window and contains a log fire and a grand piano. There is also a south-facing function room.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** A projector and screen that can be linked to your laptop is available. We also have a couple of amplifiers in our Pine Hall but no PA.
- **Games Room:** Table tennis table currently set up in our self-catering kitchen which can also be moved to other parts of the house.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** Heating is provided by wood burning stoves which circulate heat to radiators in bedrooms, backed up by a gas and solar supply.
- **Bedrooms:** A mixture of rooms with 2, 3, 4 and 5 beds. Each room has a sink and storage for clothes. 5 of our rooms have double beds.
- **Linen:** All bedding is provided and this includes a bath towel.
- **Bathrooms:** 4 communal bathrooms in the house, 2 each on the first and second floor, inc showers and baths. Our campsite has an outdoor shower and compost loos.
- **Children's Facilities:** Swings for all ages, a laurel grove where kids love to hang out, 12 acres of extensive grounds to explore, and farm animals to visit.
- **Outdoor:** The lawns have tables and our adjacent camping area has an outdoor kitchen, barbecue, fire-pit and a fantastic view.
- **Swimming Pool:** We do not have a swimming pool but the sea is a 4 mile drive, bus ride or pleasant walk away.
- **Parking:** Parking on site for up to 24 cars, including some minibuses, and for larger summer events we can rent a nearby field.
- **Smoking:** Smoking is only permitted by the campfire.

## Booking Information

- Once you submit an enquiry we will get back to you with a description and a bed plan showing the layout of the main house. You can hire our whole house which sleeps up to 38 & grounds for courses and events from £1250. The Wyld Lodge is available on a self catering basis. Please get in touch to learn more.

- We ask for a 25% deposit up front to secure the booking. This would be followed by a further 25% two months before the event and then the final balance should be paid no less than one week before arrival.
