Built in the 17th and 19th centuries, Morton House and The Stable Block was carefully restored to the beautiful holiday accommodation it is today - keeping all its charm and features. Morton House has exposed beams, fantastic loft master suite and a farmhouse style kitchen diner, great for gatherings.

The properties share a private walled garden which links to The Stable Block.  This 3 bedroom property has a downstairs en suite bedroom with walk in shower, suited for those guests with limited mobility. The double bedroom opens via patio doors to the garden.

It is ideal for large groups of family or friends to enjoy the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

Dog Friendly

Pets considered at time of enquiry. We respectfully request pets not be left unattended, allowed on the furniture or carpeted areas of the property.

Morton House's large kitchen has a range cooker, microwave, dishwasher. The Stable Block has its own kitchen with electric oven/hob and microwave.

Dining Room

A 7ft dining table able to seat 12 is in Morton House and an additional dining area in The Stable Block.

Sitting Room

The more formal 'Green' room in Morton House has an open fire, or the TV room a wood burner. The Stable Block sitting area looks out to the garden.

TV and Music Facilities

Large flat screen TV with full Sky package, movies and sport - one in each property.

Games Room

There is no games room but there are the delights of the Dales on the doorstep.

Heating and Open Fires

Central heating throughout - Morton House has a wood burner in the TV room and open fire in the Green room. Central heating in The Stable Block.


House 4brms: large loft with king bed and single daybed, double, super-king, twin. Stable 3brms: double downstairs, king and sgl. 3 rooms en suite.


All linen and towels provided, supplied by a professional linen supplier. Hand towels, bathmats, tea towels.


Loft en suite with roll top bath, house bathroom shower over bath, shower rm. Stable Block: shower room en suite downstairs and shower room upstairs.

Children's Facilities

Sledges for when it snows! The garden is enclosed and safe for children. Full SKY TV package including kids channels.


Walled safe garden with barbecue. Great aspect for the sun.

Swimming Pool

Swinton Park have a new leisure complex including a pool only a mile away. Public pools in Ripon, Bedale and Richmond a great choice with kids.


Unrestricted street parking with designated off road parking for one vehicle on Morton Row next to the property.

Changeover day is usually a Friday but please do speak to us if you need something different.  50% deposit.  Balance 60 days prior to arrival. £200 refundable security deposit. See our T’s & C’s in full.

Located in the market town of Masham – within walking distance to the square, pubs, breweries, cafes and galleries about 15mins off the A1(M). A jumping off point to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

  • Ripon 20 mins, Harrogate 45 mins, York and Leeds about an hours drive.
  • Masham has lovely independent shops just minutes walk from the property. Supermarket, deli, speciality chocolates and sweets in town as well as being on several major supermarket delivery routes.
  • Plenty of choice just here - 4 pubs, 2 breweries and cafes on the square and within walking distance of the house.
  • Leeds Bradford Airport is about an hours drive - Newcastle about 1.5hrs drive. Private transfers can be arranged on request with a local private hire company.
  • Thirsk train station is about 20 mins drive and Northallerton about 1/2hr drive. Most services go through York about 1hr drive. Private transfers can be arranged on request with a local company.
  • Masham has a local bus service with a stop on the square, 5mins walk. Also during the summer there is vintage bus through town up to Hawes and beyond.
