Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
The Mount, Bideford, Devon, sleeps 10-12 in 6 bedrooms.
The Mount is a beautifully refurbished Georgian property in the small town of Bideford, just a five minute walk from the town centre.
The house offers a very large and stylish open plan kitchen/living/dining area (seating up to 12) with French doors opening on to the raised patio - a spacious area ideal for large scale entertaining. There is also a good quality electric piano. From the kitchen, steps lead up to a large utility room, with Belfast sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and American style fridge freezer.
A separate, more traditional lounge is at the front of the house with comfortable sofas for relaxing. Finally by way of downstairs accommodation, there is a large library - a peaceful room for curling up with a book at the end of a busy day.
There are five double en suite bedrooms, three of which can be configured as twin or double bedrooms. A sixth bedroom has bunk beds, which whilst primarily intended for children are substantial enough to accommodate adults. All furnishings are of an extremely high standard with luxurious bed linen. The bathrooms are a good size with power showers. Two of the bathrooms have bath tubs, one with a shower over and one with a free standing bath tub.
There are two separate patio areas. The larger is a sheltered sun trap and provides ample seating with access to a gas barbecue. The second patio is sited off the car parking area and again provides a pleasant place to enjoy evening sunshine. Steps lead down to a sheltered lawned garden shaded by handsome copper beech, yew and sycamore trees. At the bottom of the garden is a feature pond.
Bideford is situated near the mouth of the River Torridge. It remains an active fishing port and there is a range of pubs, cafes and restaurants. The South West Coast Path runs through Bideford and there are some amazing stretches of coast walks to explore. Less than a five minute drive away is a wonderful sandy beach (blue flag) at Westward Ho!
Also within easy reach is Appledore, a quaint fishing village at the mouth of the Torridge. Opposite, and connected by a passenger ferry at high tide, is Instow, a charming small resort with a sandy beach backed by sand dunes.
