With free access to the whole Hardwick Estate as your playground when you stay at 6 High Hazels, you'll love a visit to the Elizabethan Hall itself as well as strolling in the park and gardens. And if you don't feel like cooking, you could visit the Great Barn restaurant on the National Trust estate, where you can grab breakfast, lunch or cakes. The converted brewhouse at the heart of the estate is furnished with a nod to the past, and it'll make a character-filled backdrop for a friends' reunion or a birthday weekend away.

Inside, the 6 bedrooms are all comfortable, with considered decor, antique touches and high ceilings. One even has an antique half tester mahogany bed. The bathroom has a beautiful roll top bath, with separate shower, and there's another shower room on the ground floor too. The compact kitchen is accented with dark red splashbacks and has everything you need for preparing a special meal for your party. The red accent continues in the dining room, where you'll find a long dining table that's perfect for gathering around after a day out exploring.

And if the whole of Hardwick Estate isn't enough, there's also a private walled garden of your own with outdoor tables and chairs. Beyond Hardwick, the rolling Derbyshire countryside beckons for walks, and the eastern edge of the Peak District with its buzzing towns like Bakewell are only 20 miles away.

A compact but modern kitchen with fitted cupboards. There's also a dishwasher to make things easier.
A classically styled room with long wooden dining table and seating for 12.
The wood burner takes pride of place in this cosy room with sofas for relaxing together after a day out. A further sitting area is on the landing.

There's a multi-fuel stove in the sitting room. The property has biomass central heating throughout.
6 bedrooms, 3 on the first floor (2 doubles and 1 twin) and 3 on the second floor (1 single, 1 twin and 1 double). Sofa bed for an extra guest too.

Large bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower. Shower room on the ground floor.

Cot and high chair available.
Enclosed private lawned garden with outdoor seating and tables. Access to the wider Hardwick estate also.

Parking for 3 cars in the stable courtyard.
