Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
National Trust - Millbeck Towers, Cumbria, sleeps 6-12 in 6 bedrooms.
With the safety of our guests and staff in mind, and in line with government advice, we are extending the closure period of our holiday operations until Tuesday 30 June 2020. We will continue to review the situation on a regular basis.
Nestled in the north of the Lake District National Park, at the south facing foot of Skiddaw, this incredible looking house owned by the National Trust definitely has the wow factor, with grand turrets that make it look like something from a fantasy novel. Inside is as impressive as out, with high ceilings, a stained-glass window, and wonderful historic details wherever you look. So grab your friends and have a weekend break in the Lakes, or gather your family for a longer holiday in this fabulous place.
The tiled entrance hall sets the scene as soon as you walk into the Millbeck Towers, with lots of the downstairs rooms opening off it. The sitting room on the first floor has an open fire and lots of big sofas, so everyone can relax after a day of exploring the Lakes, as well as big views you'll love. Whoever is in charge of cooking won't be disappointed either, as the stylish kitchen has a contemporary feel and all the pots and pans you could need. Once you've got everything cooked, then you can have a celebratory meal in the dining room with its quarry tiled floor and far-reaching views. The big table means you're all able to sit down and eat together too.
Upstairs, the mix of twin and double bedrooms are exactly what you'd expect, filled with carefully chosen furniture and stylish bedding (some with en suites also), but with the added benefit of having gorgeous views over Keswick too. Some are built into the turrets as well, so you'll have to work out between yourselves who gets to sleep where!
Outside to the rear of the house, there's a large rambling garden with a pond, numerous streams and a large flat open area that's brilliant for games. There's also glorious views down the valley and direct access to the Skiddaw Range, the highest fells in the Northern Lakes, loved by Wainwright for its good paths and fine views across the Vale of Keswick.
