Dog friendly holiday house near Morpeth sleeping 16 in a stunning lakeside setting for family special occasion weekends
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. National Trust - Rothley Lakehouse, Morpeth, Northumberland, sleeps 9 - 16 in 9 bedrooms.
Sorry, no hen or stag groups at this property.
This National Trust holiday house near Morpeth has a spectacular setting, with a lake in the grounds and a beautiful Northumberland landscape all around. Sleeping 16, and welcoming up to 4 dogs, Rothley Lakehouse is a wonderful choice for bringing together family and friends to celebrate a special occasions, or even for a holiday or reunion to be spent exploring the walking and cycling routes nearby or visiting the many attractions for all ages.
The main house has 6 bedrooms sleeping 11 and houses the reception rooms - a large hallway with seating and perfect for a quiet moment or two, a sociable drawing room as well as a separate sitting room and conservatory. The dining room seats the whole group of 16, and there's an informal breakfast room plus a kitchen with space to sit and keep the cook of the group company too.
The Annexe has a private entrance and 3 bedrooms, one of them on the ground floor and ideal for those who find stairs tricky - the perfect bolthole for a family with children or grandparents within a multi generational group.
The large gardens are well set up for al fresco dining together. The lake was inspired by the work of Capability Brown, and adds something extra special to the delightful views. It's also a haven for wildlife, and we do therefore ask that guests and dogs do not enter the water. Dogs can be exercised in an enclosed area, and are welcome to be off the lead generally but please bear in mind livestock in adjoining fields and the unfenced lake. A dog shower by the back door is a handy additional facility.
Head to Morpeth, a traditional market town about 12 miles away, for a morning out taking in historical landmarks and an interesting high street, or Ponteland 15 miles away for a great range of eateries. Rothbury Village, 13 miles away, promises galleries, antique and gift shops, and tea rooms and pubs.
