One of the oldest houses in Suffolk, run by the National Trust, can be yours for a memorable family holiday, birthday reunion or special occasion group stay. Welcoming 4 dogs as well as up to 19 guests, Thorington Hall and Lodge tick all the boxes for a big group getaway. And with its location in the middle of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are stunning countryside walks all around.

The honey-coloured historic properties with towering chimneys make the perfect backdrop to a group celebration. Inside the hall you'll find a snug on the ground floor, sitting room on the first floor and a mix of bedrooms and bathrooms split across all 3 floors. A wonderful kitchen has lots of worktop space, great if you're planning a feast, and a dining room with a long table and mix of chairs and benches to sit everyone comfortably (although passing the salt might take a while). The towering east staircase leads to the next floor in style, with tucked away spots on the landing for some time out with a mug of tea and a good book.

The adjoining gate lodge makes up the oldest part of the house, with 2 bedrooms.

Outside there's private parking for 8 cars. In the pretty, enclosed garden there's an orchard, stables and lawned tennis court, perfect for family sports tournaments.

The gorgeous Suffolk landscape made famous by John Constable (who immortalised nearby Flatford in his paintings) is all around, and if history is your thing, then don't miss a trip to nearby Sutton Hoo for some pre-history, or the wool towns of Lavenham, with its wonderful Tudor Guildhall, or Long Melford. The Suffolk coastline is peppered with pretty villages and also a wildlife lover's dream.

- **Heating and Open Fires:** Central heating (air source) throughout. There's a wood burner in the snug and the dining room, fuel provided.
- **Bedrooms:** 8 bedrooms, 5 twins (2 that can be made into doubles on request) and 3 doubles. 3 of the bedrooms are en suite.
- **Linen:** Bedding and towels provided.
- **Bathrooms:** A family bathroom and 2 en suites on the first floor, a shower room on the ground floor and a further en suite on the second floor.

- **Outdoor:** Large mature, enclosed garden with orchard, stable and grass tennis court. Barbecue area.
