Netherway Farmhouse and Barn provide an ideal location for family gatherings or for friends who want to share a holiday. There is secure parking space for 3 cars, 2 shared gardens including a large wood-fired pizza oven, a dining table for up to 12 in the Farmhouse and for up to 4 in the Barn. This provides an ideal opportunity to meet together but also enjoy your own private space.
Netherway Farmhouse dates back in parts to the Tudor era and as such is full of character, with oak beamed ceilings and stone brick walls. It is a Grade 2 listed property in the conservation area of the beautiful village of Okeford Fitzpaine. The Farmhouse has been extensively and carefully restored and refurbished to give guests more modern comforts and facilities whilst at the same time preserving the homely feel of an old farmhouse cottage. It can sleep up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms, and there is a large sitting area and dining room with a table which can seat up to 12.
Netherway Barn is a separate building at the back of the Farmhouse. The Barn was renovated in 2019 with a new oak timber structure and careful preservation of the ancient cob wall (which has earned the Barn Grade 2 status too) at the back of the barn. Internally we have tried to retain the character of the barn with a spacious open plan feel to the property but also all the comforts required for modern living. On the ground floor there are wide door openings, a downstairs shower room and main bedroom. This makes it accessible to people who are less mobile. There is a mezzanine area with 2 single beds which would be well suited to a family with 2 children. There is a table in the dining area to seat up to 4 people.
Okeford Fitzpaine is a picturesque village in the heart of the beautiful Blackmore Vale with amazing walks direct from the cottage. Nearby are the towns of Blandford, Shaftesbury, Sherborne and Dorchester. Okeford Fitzpaine is in striking distance from the coast; the Jurassic region around Weymouth and the sandy beaches of Poole and Bournemouth are roughly equidistant and under an hour.
