With plenty of space, Newholme House is a wonderful venue for getting together with family and friends for special occasions and celebrations, milestone birthdays, reunions, or simply for a weekend away in beautiful surroundings.

Newholme House is available on a self catering basis, or if you wish we can provide a cook and a fully catered service. This VisitScotland 4 star accommodation is full of Edwardian charm, with high ceilings and light-filled rooms. Fine antiques sit alongside modern amenities, ensuring a blend of character with comfort. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for catering for a group, and the dining room allows the whole group to celebrate together with a special dinner. Two living rooms mean there's space for your group to spread out. The Flat adjoining the house is ideal for members of your group seeking a higher degree of privacy, or perhaps for the older generation in an extended family visit.

The house is in an excellent location for enjoying the many activities and experiences that this part of Scotland has to offer. There are castles and other important sites to visit, the dramatic scenery of the Scottish Highlands to explore, and the opportunity to play golf at a range of impressive courses. we can also arrange local guides to ensure your group gets the very best from your stay at Newholme House.

Dogs accommodated and welcome - please enquire. Basic rule: not allowed on furniture or beds or left home alone. There is no extra charge.

Dining Room

Spacious room with a table seating 12. Additional guests can be seated in the same room at a separate table.

Sitting Room

2 living rooms in the house - the Drawing Room and Morning Room, both with a log or coal fire. Morning Room has TV. Small living room in the Flat.

TV and Music Facilities

Flatscreen TV and Sky Q with full sports coverage satellite TV in the Morning Room.

Games Room

There is no games room.

Heating and Open Fires

Open fires in the living rooms in the house. Central heating downstairs and individual heating in bedrooms.


3 superking zip and link, 2 doubles, 1 twin. 3 have hand wash basins. Hairdryers in all bedrooms. Flat: 2 kingsize bedrooms.


All linen and towels and hand towels supplied.


1 bathroom has walk-in shower, bath and WC. 2 bathrooms with walk-in shower and WC. Flat: upstairs bath with shower over, downstairs WC.

Children's Facilities

2 cots (1 full cot, 1 travel cot) available. Please bring your own linen.


Mature gardens with large lawns and seating areas.

Swimming Pool

There is no pool.


Plenty of parking on site - for 6 cars comfortably.

Booking Information

Full weeks only in high season and Christmas/New Year. Low and mid season, 3 night minimum stay. £120 cleaning fee.
30% deposit confirms booking. Balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Accept credit card /  BACS.

Damage Deposit 

  • We are commited to protecting our properties and keeping up-to-date information with short term let regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete our independent verification.
  • Before your booking begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your booking.  You will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification.
  • You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver.  We suggest you buy the waiver as this protects you in case you cause accidental damage during a booking.
