This lovely area of West Dorset is perfect for a wonderful break away with friends and family and North Eggardon Carthouse the ideal venue to bring everyone together, for a holiday or to celebrate a special occasion. Tucked away at the end of a long driveway, a stay at North Eggardon Carthouse will leave you feeling revitalised and refreshed.

This beautiful holiday home near Bridport was inspired by the owner's vision of creating an energy efficient house using traditional materials and hand-made furniture, alongside modern features including underfloor heating and solar panels. The open plan space shows off the lime washed walls and terracotta floor tiles in the expansive sittingroom-kitchen-diner, a great area for socialising.

Prepare a family meal in the kitchen where there's a large ESSE wood fired range. Gather at the dining table and round the wood-burning stove for after dinner drinks or play table tennis in the games room.  There’s a boot room for the wet weather gear and a handy washing machine and dryer in the utility room, always useful in an unpredictable summer (or winter).

The games room is an adaptable space, separate but connected to the main house. In the past it has hosted yoga sessions, singing workshops, a temporary studio for artists and a practice room for musicians. It has a full-size ping pong table, seating and a sink.

The veranda is a great outdoor space for barbecues and al fresco dining with a long table seating everyone, and beyond is an enclosed garden for badminton, games and relaxing. Children will love the swing, also hand made. Dogs are welcome although must be supervised.

The original carthouse part of the building has been transformed into an accessible ground floor bedroom with garden views, a ramp and ensuite wet room. The bedrooms upstairs are a combination of a quad (a great den for the children), a triple, a twin and a double. Most can be reconfigured to suit guests needs and there are two travel cots and high-chairs also available. The two main bedrooms are sensitively designed, showing off beautiful double-height space, timber beams and floors.

There are 2 shepherd's huts and a yurt available for additional guests.

Walkers will love the footpaths and bridleways, with a path up to the Iron Age Eggardon Hillfort (a National Trust property) direct from the farm. Most of West Dorset can be seen from the top, one of the finest views you can find anywhere in Dorset. The Jurassic Heritage Coast is 6 miles away at West Bay/Bridport or visit Lyme Regis - both with great eateries for foodies. There are also 5 pubs within walking distance of the farm (30-60 minutes), all serving food. Alternatively, you could book a local caterer to take the strain.

- **TV and Music Facilities:** CD player and iPod docking station. No TV or DVD player.
- **Children's Facilities:** Cot and high chair available but please bring own cot sheets. Swings and garden games.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** Underfloor heating. Log burning stove in lounge with logs provided.
- **Linen:** Bed linen and bathroom towels provided. Please bring own beach towels.

- A 30% deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance and refundable security deposit (£250 per week) due 6 weeks before arrival.
