Northcourt offers the perfect location for residential business meetings and as a unique team-building venue. The Grade II-listed Jacobean manor house offers flexible, quality accommodation with up to 24 bedrooms.
The property is set with 15 acres of glorious gardens, located on the edge of the picturesque village of Shorwell within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property is easily accessible from the main ferry ports, providing a rural escape with wonderful walking up on the Downs, close to beaches and many of the Islands attractions. The Crown Inn is located within a 5-minute’ walk through the garden and is a welcome distraction for those wanting to have a night off cooking or fancy a pint of local Goddard’s ale.
The 30-foot function room can seat 40+ for dinner and can easily seat as many for workshops and presentations. There are also a number of break-out spaces located throughout the house for smaller groups and socialising.
We can pass on details of local caterers and their teams to cook for you. There is plenty to entertain you on the Island, and we will also happily recommend local attractions and activities, from group cookery, shooting, kayaking, surfing, walking, cycling, fishing and sailing.
High-speed fibre broadband is available via Wi-Fi in large parts of the house. Central heating is provided throughout the property, with open fires and wood-burning stoves providing supplementary warmth and aesthetic charm.

Dog Friendly

We accept up to 2 well-trained mature dogs on the ground floor only. There is a field at the front of the house and plenty of accessible walks.

Kitchen

Kitchens available in each wing with double oven electric ranges, a number of fridges and well stocked with utensils, crockery, cutlery etc.

Sitting rooms in all wings with open fires or wood burning stoves.

30 foot games room in central wing with table tennis.

Biomass central heating, supplemented by wood burning stove and open fireplace.

Bedrooms

7 in west wing (Little Northcourt), 9 in north wing (Northcourt House). If required, additional bedrooms are available in other parts of the house.

Linen

Linen and towels are provided. No beach towels.

Bathrooms

7 in the west wing, 8 in the north wing. All except one have a shower, 10 have baths as well as showers, some over the baths.

Children's Facilities

Playroom for table tennis and small pool table. Paddock with outdoor games. 3 acre field for ball games. Access to wider 15 acre gardens.

Grass tennis court in season (May - September). Field for ball games. Outdoor terrace and enclosed rear garden. Access to wider 15 acre gardens.

Location

The property is situated within the Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the quiet, picturesque village of Shorwell, with village shop, pub and church.

  • Newport with supermarkets ten minutes drive way.
  • Village shop is 4 minutes walk away for essential items, or larger local shop 5 minutes drive in Brightstone.
  • The Crown Inn is just 4 minutes walk through garden. Other excellent local pubs include the Blacksmiths at Carisbrooke and the Taverners in Godshill (both 15 minutes drive).
  • Southampton Airport is an hour away.
  • Ferries to from Southampton, Portsmouth, or Lymington (we can offer good discounts). Trains to Lymington, Southampton or Portsmouth.
  • Number 12 bus stops outside gate (only every 2 hours).
