High in the hills of the Staffordshire Moorlands, we are situated on the edge of Flash, the highest village in England, yet just a few 100 yards off the A53 so we are easily accessible.
David and Liz Andrews have been at Northfield since 1976, originally just a farm and small riding centre we have expanded to include 4 holiday properties and a much larger Riding and Trekking centre which also includes the Alto stud, producing Andalusian horses.
There are a total of 18 bed spaces plus 2 bed-settees which makes us a great location for groups of families and friends to meet up for short or long breaks.
The Old Stables was our original conversion back in 1979. Two flats were made, both of which have undergone considerable refurbishment in 2002, giving them larger kitchens and en-suite bedrooms. The ground floor flat sleeping 5 is ideal for those with mobility problems or families with young children as there are no stairs to worry about. Whilst the upstairs (Roaches View) accommodates 4, both of these form a nice unit for 8/9 as the ground floor kitchen/diner seats 8 comfortably.
There are 2 further conversions - Moorland View (aka The Apartment) sleeping 2 people and The Hayloft which sleep 7.
We run a riding centre at the farm and guests are welcome to 'have a go' however if you are keen on walking there are a variety of walks from the farm and many of the popular walking areas such as Dove Dale are only a short drive away. Cycling is also available on the High peak trail and at Waterhouses.
To the north of Flash is the famous Spa town of Buxton, just 4.5 miles, following the A6 will take you to the well know market town of Bakewell, home of the famous Bakewell pudding. A few miles further on you will find Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.
To the west there is the Cheshire Plain with its host of National Trust Houses and many market towns. To the south are the potteries where you will find the famous Wedgewood factory and Museum.
The ever popular Alton Towers is only 16 miles away.
