We are happy to host hen parties and celebrations, and the house is also well suited to family holidays and reunions.
Oak Barn offers spacious accommodation over 5 well proportioned bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with underfloor heating and heated towel rails. A large oak framed sitting room has a log burning fire, and there's a well stocked kitchen with dining area seating 16, perfect for your group gathering.
Chew Magna is a 5 minute walk away and has much to offer in terms of pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Scenic walks and cycle routes from the doorstep offer gorgeous Chew Valley scenery, including the stone circle at Stanton Drew. Alternatively you can venture further afield into Bath or Bristol, a short drive from Oak Barn. 20 minutes to Bristol, 30 minutes to Bath by car.
Chew Valley Lake, an important site for wildlife and a Site of Special scientific Interest, is located nearby. It has two nature trails with indigenous and migrant water birds and is a national centre for bird watching, with over 260 species recorded, including some unusual sightings. Take a wonderful countryside walk over fields and streams (4.1 miles) or a 12 minute drive. Around the lake you will find Salt and Malt fish and chip restaurant and takeaway.
