Magnificent house near Grosmont sleeping 22 with games room for large group weekends and family holidays

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Old Great Marlborough House, Monmouthshire, Wales, sleeps 6 - 22 in 10 bedrooms.

A unique, luxurious and lovingly restored self-catered property for up to 22. One of the Black Mountains’ foremost C17 farmhouses, Old Great Marlborough is truly a one-off. Refurbished using largely recycled materials, Old Great Marlborough combines spacious and comfortable accommodation with a host of facilities perfect for group get-togethers, as well as mature gardens and all manner of original and interesting features. In-house catering is available for all types of events and get-togethers.

The house and its 3-acre gardens are set in the middle of a 180 acres of farmland. An indoor activity room, with a basket ball hoop, table tennis and badminton, downstairs games room and outdoor tennis court provide plenty of activity for all ages, while our wood-fired hot-tub surrounded by woodland and illuminated by festoon lights is perfect for evening relaxation. Meanwhile, our large garden room (complete with fruiting grape vine), antique dining room and 30 x 30 ft living room with wood-burning stove make the house a luxurious, comfortable setting for large gatherings. Cooking is a joy in our large, country-style kitchen which boasts an Aga and Belfast sink, whilst our well-proportioned bedrooms, fine artwork and antique furniture create the ideal atmosphere for a relaxing holiday.

The sleeping accommodation is spread throughout the main, historic part of the house, an activity annex and separate bunkhouse with its own kitchenette and dining area. Each of our double rooms has a dedicated bathroom.

Children are well catered for with their own play room with plenty of toys, books and a separate television and a play kitchen. The indoor activity area is perfect for riding around our collection of 'Diddy Cars' or playing games.

The grounds of OGM host a tennis court with viewing pavilion, a sunken garden, covered barbeque area (complete with lighting and power-points for great summer evening parties!) and many secluded seating areas. The gardens feature stunning views of the Black Mountains, Hay Bluff, the magical Skirrid Mountain, rolling farmland and – on a clear night – even as far as the Milky Way.
