In a tranquil village setting, less than 3 miles from the sandy beach at Paignton, The Old Mill and the 4 adjoining single-storey holiday cottages, imaginatively converted from former farm buildings, retain splendid original roof beams and stone walls. All are set around the same pretty courtyard garden with a pond and fountain, and are attractively furnished in a New England style.
Each cottage has an open plan living area and Old Mill has enough space for a larger group to get together. Bedrooms are well furnished and individually decorated, with a good mix of king size doubles and twins. On site there is also a laundry room with coin-operated washing machine, tumble dryer and a freezer (all shared with other properties on-site).
The grounds include a graveled and grassed courtyard with garden furniture and a barbecue. Please note: There is a pond and a fountain in the centre of the courtyard, 30 yards away from the property.
There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained when staying at Old Mill Cottages. The beach at Paignton is sandy and ideal for children, and the South Hams area as a whole is pretty with many charming towns and villages to explore. Paignton Zoo and Crealy Theme Park may appeal to the younger members of the group, and there are prehistoric caves to explore, the Princess Theatre in Torbay and the charming harbour at Dartmouth, as well as a wide range of country pubs and quality eateries. Exeter is also close enough for a day out, or head north to rugged Dartmoor for walking.
