This former Scottish shooting lodge has been renovated to create a wonderful family holiday house in the foothills of the Cairngorms National Park. The house retains original features including paneled rooms and open fires alongside a modern kitchen and luxurious hot tubs.
Scotland boasts many golf courses, and Old Milton has its own 9 hole course - roll out of bed, grab a coffee and you can be on the first tee within minutes. There are also opportunities for private fishing, clay pigeon shooting and tennis on site, providing entertainment for families and friends away for a holiday or weekend, as well as corporate groups and team building groups. And after a long day of activities, head to the deck and the luxury hot tub for a relaxing soak. There is a small gym for those wanting to burn off more calories.
Luxury living areas are the order of the day at Old Milton. Inside dining is a sociable experience, either for self catered meals or those prepared by a private chef hired in to create a celebration feast. The lounges are comfortable with plenty of relaxed seating, open fires and spectacular views through traditional sash windows.
There are 7 individually designed double rooms in the main house but anyone who wants a couples' retreat, or just some extra quiet, can opt to use the bothy or the cute shepherd's hut. Be a part of the group during the day but tucked away at night - perfect for older group members too. Bathrooms are plentiful across the house with 2 freestanding baths and a total of 6 separate facilities.
For water sports enthusiasts, Loch Inch is a short drive from Old Milton, offering sailing, kayaking, wind surfing and river trips in Canadian canoes. Aviemore is close by for winter skiing. Hikers will love a walk along Badenoch Way or the undulating footpaths of the Rothiemurchus and, for the more energetic, a climb up the Munro Sgoran. For 18 holes the Boat of Garten Highland golf club is within easy reach or Royal Dornoch further afield. The Highland Wildlife Park is a great family day out too.
